We Have the Technology. We Can Rebuild it.
Tuesday, July 11th, 2023
One of our customers recently inherited a Brunette BioSizer 4872B that had been purchased new in 2010. When they asked about the thirteen-year-old machine — we answered, We have the technology. We can rebuild it.
But what does it mean to rebuild an entire machine? Refurbishing a wood-processing machine such as a wood waste grinder or a drum chipper includes disassembling, sandblasting, replacing all worn items, electrical updates, repainting the entire frame and more.
Our service technicians are experts in mechanical, hydraulic, lubrication, pneumatic, electrical, and control systems. Not only do they have experience with these systems, but they also understand how each of our Brunette machines performs.
Read the full story in our latest E-News to find out how our service techs transformed the old Brunette BioSizer on the left, to the as-new one on the right.

The Heavyweight Champion of Wood Waste Grinders
Friday, May 12th, 2023
The Brunette/Grizzly Mill Hog is known as the Heavyweight Champion of Wood Waste Grinders for good reason! It is designed to be the most rugged hog on the market and will handle almost any material you throw at it and keep on running.
See our Grizzly Mill ad in the April issue of Timber Processing on page 23.

The unique rotor processes various materials, including cedar and green spruce bark, butt ends, railroad ties and stringy bark. The result is a quality fiber suitable for hog fuel, mulch, or biomass product.
Shear pins protect the anvil and grate from damage from large pieces of metal or rocks and the frame is protected with bolt-on replaceable liners. The Grizzly Mill’s clamshell opening provides safe, easy access for maintenance and change-out of striker bars.
Electronic interlocks installed on the grate, anvil and upper frame provide a safe working environment. Other safety features of the Grizzly Mill include a rotor lock and safety bar to keep the rotor and hood from moving during maintenance and striker change-outs.
More details on this rugged wood waste grinder can be found here. Download our brochure here.

Get More From Your Mill
Wednesday, May 10th, 2023
The Brunette Machinery BioSizer® helps you get more from your mill. Featuring a rugged, heavy-duty design, this secondary grinder produces a fine, consistent product ideal for the biomass industry.
Find us on page 7 of the April 2023 issue of Wood Bioenergy magazine.

As the global biomass power market continues to grow, more mill owners are expanding their operations to fill the demand. The Brunette BioSizer helps owners across North America take control of their fiber supply.
Our BioSizer produces a fine, consistent product ideal for the biomass industry. This solid secondary grinder efficiently converts various material such as trim blocks, bark, wood chips, and typical urban wood waste into uniform-sized fibers suitable for high quality biomass fuel.
User-friendly and ergonomic, this grinder has a high inertia rotor and fixed, steel hammers. Four rows of staggered hammers provide maximum bites per revolution and feature two-sided tungsten carbide coated striker bars for longevity. B-Loks mount the rotor onto an oversized shaft supported by spherical bearings and installed in a spigot mounted steel bearing housing.
Our BioSizer’s robust main frame is line-bored for accuracy and alignment for maximum bearing life. Shear pins protect the swing-away anvil and grate from damage from large pieces of metal or rock. Internal, replaceable, bolt-on wear liners provide additional protection.
The 3-piece grate has interchangeable sections together with a progressive rectangular hole pattern. Grates are available with optional hole patterns that can be easily changed out to provide maximum customization for various product sizes.
The performance-engineered design features a large rear-access door that allows for easy maintenance as well as safe striker bar change out.

Increase Your Lumber Recovery
Tuesday, March 21st, 2023
Find out how you can increase your lumber recovery. Take a look at our latest ad — featuring Brunette Flare Butt Reducers — on page 64 of the Softwood Forest Products Buyer March/April 2023 issue

The Brunette Flare Butt Reducer is designed to convert troublesome logs into valuable timber. Its robust construction reduces maintenance and improves uptime for continual return on investment.
Installing a Brunette Flare Butt Reducer at the start of the production line, affords many advantages throughout the entire mill. including: improved log handling and sorting, better alignment and log control during scanning.
As well, more accurate curve sawing occurs without influence from the butt flare and, negative effects from conveyor chain transitions during the sawing are minimized.
Like our standard model, the Brunette Dual Head Flare Butt Reducer turns troublesome logs into profitable ones. It is specifically designed for larger product capacity and does not require log pre-sorting.
Both Brunette’s Flare Butt Reducer models have the same unique design and cutting geometry that turns rogue logs into valuable lumber, while the robust construction reduces maintenance and improves uptime for continual return on investment.
