Introducing the Brunette SmartVIBE® 5826 Vibrating Conveyor

Wednesday, July 8th, 2020

The Brunette SmartVIBE® is a unique and simple vibrating conveyor, designed for low cost maintenance and maximum up-time efficiencies. The patented design allows operators to change the conveyor speed by utilizing a Variable Speed Drive (VFD) to control the drive motor RPM which effects the conveyor stroke. An internal counterweight ensures optimal balance, even at different speeds. The SmartVIBE has no external balance beams and no coil springs. It features a springless vibratory mechanism which is fully balanced at each stroke.

This versatile conveyor can bring new efficiencies to many different industries and applications including biomass production and transportation; sawmill and plywood mills, OSB; urban recycling and processing; pellet manufacturing; food processing; agricultural; and mining.

The vibrating conveyor drive is designed to be inboard complete with a single electric motor.
An eccentric shaft, driven by a belt and a sheave complete with belt guard, is mounted in roller bearing assemblies and connected to the conveyor with custom elastomer elements that provide trouble free operation in summer and winter.

Parallel torsional shafts are mounted in a heavy duty housing, secured in place with B-Loks and connected to the rocker arm. The rocker arms provide a link between the counterbalance weight and the trough. The counterbalance weight is a unique design feature of the Brunette SmartVIBE. It can be converted to a secondary trough to increase material flow, or to carry fines when a screen is being used.

This vibrating conveyor can be custom built to suit your specific needs. The versatility of the Brunette SmartVIBE lies in the many options available for varied applications. The conveyor can be constructed in different widths and lengths, with size specific screening options, metal detector, or rare earth magnets.

Our newest model, the Brunette SmartVIBE 5826, is 58″ wide and comes with fines screen and metal trap. The configuration of this model ensures that you get the cleanest useable material flowing into your grinders or chippers to maximize your product yield, while protecting equipment downstream.

For more information about our SmartVIBE, check out our Equipment page or call our office at 604.522.3977 and speak to our knowledgeable sales team.

The Last Show…

Wednesday, November 13th, 2019

We just returned from Tucson, Arizona where we attended the EWTA Info Fair, the premier supplier exhibition for companies to connect with North America’s leading engineered product manufacturers. It was a great event where we reconnected with old colleagues and made new connections. This show is the last one that Brunette is attending in 2019 and we are busy planning for all the exciting trade events that are coming up in the New Year.

Trade Show Set-Up Image

The first two shows are happening in February and both offer excellent opportunities for networking with colleagues and customers in the forestry, wood products and bioenergy industries.

The Indiana Hardwood Lumbermen’s Association Convention and Exposition (IHLA) is billed as the largest convention and trade shows of its kind in the Midwest. The Association’s 122nd annual event, showcasing new technologies and innovations in the hardwood market, will take place over three days — February 3-5, 2020 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Find out more here.

Running at the same time, is the 13th Annual International Biomass Conference and Expo in Nashville, Tennessee — the world’s premier educational and networking event for the biomass industry. Sponsored by BBI International, this show will feature “All Things Biomass” with an expected attendance of over 900 producers, partners and industry experts. Read more here.

Both events promise to be exciting and informative with the opportunity to meet with peers, receive timely information on important industry topics, catch up with old customers and develop new connections. They will bring exhibitors, industry professionals and attendees together to share with and learn from each other.

If you are attending either event, please stop by our booths and say hello!

Two Minutes of Silence

Thursday, November 7th, 2019

Every year on November 11, Canadians pause in a moment of silence to honour and remember the men and women who have served, and continue to serve Canada during times of war, conflict and peace. We remember the more than 2,300,000 Canadians who have served throughout our nation’s history and the more than 118,000 who made the ultimate sacrifice.*

As we stand in silence, with the sounds of the Last Post ringing in our hearts, the iconic poem  — In Flanders Fields comes to mind. Lest we forget…

Image of poppies in a field

In Flanders Fields
Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Our office will be closed on Monday, November 11, 2019 in observance of Remembrance Day.
