The Partnership expects to have a production capacity of 170,000 to 200,000 metric tons per year. Read the article on page 32 in the September/October 2020 issue of the Logging & Sawmilling Journal.

BMC Prince George’s A-Team — Building Solutions

Tuesday, September 29th, 2020

When wood-processing equipment breaks down, mills grind to a halt. The result? Lost revenue, lost production, and lost hours. In the lumber industry, machinery repairs must be done quickly, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

Luckily for one of our northern customers, our Prince George machine shop’s A-Team understands that speed and efficiency are essential to keeping production lines running. When a mill crash suspended operations, our customer sent their rotor to our shop for inspection.  The A-Team suited up (PPE, including safety glasses and ear protection) and went to work! After careful review, the team replaced a bearing and built a new shaft, restoring the rotor to near-new condition and met all the company’s expectations. A win-win for the customer and our Prince George team!

Introducing the Brunette SmartVIBE® 5826 Vibrating Conveyor

Wednesday, July 8th, 2020

The Brunette SmartVIBE® is a unique and simple vibrating conveyor, designed for low cost maintenance and maximum up-time efficiencies. The patented design allows operators to change the conveyor speed by utilizing a Variable Speed Drive (VFD) to control the drive motor RPM which effects the conveyor stroke. An internal counterweight ensures optimal balance, even at different speeds. The SmartVIBE has no external balance beams and no coil springs. It features a springless vibratory mechanism which is fully balanced at each stroke.

This versatile conveyor can bring new efficiencies to many different industries and applications including biomass production and transportation; sawmill and plywood mills, OSB; urban recycling and processing; pellet manufacturing; food processing; agricultural; and mining.

The vibrating conveyor drive is designed to be inboard complete with a single electric motor.
An eccentric shaft, driven by a belt and a sheave complete with belt guard, is mounted in roller bearing assemblies and connected to the conveyor with custom elastomer elements that provide trouble free operation in summer and winter.

Parallel torsional shafts are mounted in a heavy duty housing, secured in place with B-Loks and connected to the rocker arm. The rocker arms provide a link between the counterbalance weight and the trough. The counterbalance weight is a unique design feature of the Brunette SmartVIBE. It can be converted to a secondary trough to increase material flow, or to carry fines when a screen is being used.

This vibrating conveyor can be custom built to suit your specific needs. The versatility of the Brunette SmartVIBE lies in the many options available for varied applications. The conveyor can be constructed in different widths and lengths, with size specific screening options, metal detector, or rare earth magnets.

Our newest model, the Brunette SmartVIBE 5826, is 58″ wide and comes with fines screen and metal trap. The configuration of this model ensures that you get the cleanest useable material flowing into your grinders or chippers to maximize your product yield, while protecting equipment downstream.

For more information about our SmartVIBE, check out our Equipment page or call our office at 604.522.3977 and speak to our knowledgeable sales team.
